JESUS IN JERUSALEM

This series is from Luke 19-21.

Luke wrote for a patron named Theophilus who was most likely a Roman official who wanted to know if there was any reason to doubt what he’d heard about Jesus. That’s where this Gospel is so helpful for people like us, because like Theophilus there are plenty of people who have doubts about what they have heard about Jesus.

If you aren’t yet a Christian, Luke’s story about Jesus is for you because it asks if you’re sure you can ignore Jesus.

If you’re doubtful that these things are true, Luke’s story about Jesus is for you because Luke shows you can investigate the truth for yourself.

If you’re struggling with life and wondering if God cares for you, Luke’s story about Jesus is for you because it’ll renew your confidence in Jesus’ compassion and mercy and love.

If you’ve grown complacent, or even a little bit self-righteous, Luke’s story about Jesus is for you because it will call you to bear fruit in keeping with repentance as you live for Jesus.

Luke’s story about Jesus is for all of us, because it shows us Jesus’ glory and invites us to take hold of his grace and compassionate love and mercy.

We pray that as we get to know God more the intent of our heart will be to trust and serve him more.

We hope it's an encouraging time for all of us as we learn to enjoy God's love more and more.

We are now gathering together every Sunday at Gracemere (4 Lawrie St) at 8:30am
